Over time, steering cylinder seals wear out and begin to leak, causing loss of hydraulic fluid and reduced steering performance. If your Seastar Power Steering Cylinder is rebuildable, we offer professional rebuild services in-house at Seatech Marine Products, Inc.

RUSH YOUR REBUILD

• Option Above ($175): Once we receive your part, we’ll rebuild and ship it the same day. If it arrives in the afternoon, we’ll complete the rebuild and ship it the next business day. Please note, if the part is not rebuildable or requires repairs beyond a standard rebuild, additional time may be needed-we’ll contact you in that case, the RUSH fee still applies as we prioritize your rebuild. For faster return shipping, you can choose an expedited option at checkout.

Other Options?

• We HIGHLY recommend rebuilding of your cylinder as these are heavy duty parts and can last far beyond leaking, otherwise:

How to Ship your Part

1. Describe the Issues You Are Experiencing in the text field above, this is required, and will be the way we address your concerns.
2. Add this service to your cart
3. Checkout
4. Include a note with:
   1. Your return address
   2. Your phone number, email and order number
5. If you chose the RUSH option, write "RUSH" on the outside of your box
6. Ship your part to us with FedEx, UPS or USPS
7. Once we receive your part, we will inspect it, service it, and send it back

2nd Option

• Include a note in the box with your return address, contact information, the issues you are experiencing, ship the part to us, no need to checkout online.
• Please note, we can track your rebuild better if you place the order online, you acknowledge this when not placing the order online. 

How To Remove your Cylinder

• 2 Line Systems:
1. Remove steering lines from cylinder (cap steering lines and mark Port and Starboard)
2. Drain ALL oil from cylinder, if we have to drain the oil for you, there is a $30 fee for us to recycle it
3. Remove ALL fittings from your cylinder, of we have to remove them for you, there is a $30 fee.
4. Place in plastic bag (so any residual oil does not leak into box)

About our Rebuild Service:

Seatech Marine Products, located in San Diego, CA has over 30+ years in the marine service business. We are an authorized dealer for Dometic SeaStar & Seastar Power Steering. We are well versed of the ins and outs of your cylinder. Once you send your cylinder into us for rebuild, a marine tech will look over your part and make sure it only needs to be rebuilt, if we encounter more issues we will contact you for approval of repair and for your payment information. Although your cylinder is expected to last years, we offer a 6 month limited warranty from the date of delivery back to you.

Terms of Purchase:

• If the part is not rebuildable, inspection fee is $40 + return shipping if you wish to keep it. The inspection fee can be applied to a new part!
• Drain ALL oil from cylinder. If we have to drain the oil for you, there is a $30 fee for us to recycle it
• Remove ALL the fittings from your cylinder. If we have to remove fittings for you, there is a $30 fee for us to do so
• Estimated rebuild time is ONLY AN ESTIMATE, and is based off of when we receive your part, how many rebuilds we have going on at the moment, and how much attention your part will need. In no way is the ESTIMATED rebuild time a guarantee. If you need the part rebuild immediately (1 full day of having it) choose the RUSH option
